Work Begins on New All-Weather Sports Facilities at Rathmore Park, Lusk
Fingal County Council has begun work on the highly anticipated Rathmore Park Sports and Recreational Hub in Lusk. Once completed, the development will provide modern, high-quality facilities for local sports clubs, community groups and people of all ages.
The beginning of construction was marked by a sod-turning ceremony attended by Mayor of Fingal Cllr Tony Murphy, Council Chief Executive AnnMarie Farrelly, Oireachtas members and representatives from local community groups.
The new hub will include an all-weather synthetic soccer and GAA pitch, along with an eight-lane floodlit athletics track built to World Athletics standards.
Mayor Murphy described the development as a major investment in the growing community of Lusk. He said the new facilities would encourage healthier and more active lifestyles, increase participation in sport and create greater opportunities for inclusion, wellbeing and community connection across Lusk and the surrounding area.
